Val began her career in the caring professions as a Psychiatric Nurse working in a large hospital in Sheffield for a number of years. She subsequently trained in Therapeutic Massage and built up a successful practice in South Wales . After developing RSI (repetitive strain injury) and it being cured by acupuncture, she decided to train in Acupuncture at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council. She has been an Acupuncturist for 12 years and runs several clinics across East Devon . Val is also currently working on a research project at Wonford Hospital treating Head and Neck cancer patients with acupuncture.
Val specialises in womens' health problems such as fertility treatment, IVF support and pregnancy management, acupuncture for addictions such as smoking and weight management. She also has undertaken extensive training in Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture (FRA). FRA is a cosmetic treatment often described as a non-surgical facelift. The treatment is virtually painless and can erase many of the signs of aging such as wrinkles, jowl and frown lines. It brightens the eyes and leaves the skin looking radiant.
