I am a fully qualified Nutritionist, trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition. I have been practising for 18 years both in the Midlands and in Devon . I currently work in Exmouth. I became interested in Nutrition after a change of diet helped me to recover from Crohn's disease. This has led me to have a particular interest in digestive problems and I frequently see clients with IBS, Crohn's, colitis and other digestive illnesses.
I enjoy good food but don't believe in rigid or restrictive eating habits. My aim is to encourage clients to improve their diets in a practical, enjoyable and sustainable way. I am also involved in writing and researching in the field of nutrition and health. I have had articles published on many subjects including eyesight, fertility, eczema, Crohn's disease and ageing.
What to expect from an appointment?
Nutritional therapy is about making sure your body has all the right ingredients to heal itself or to stay healthy. During your first session we will talk about your health problems, symptoms and current diet. The aim of this is to give me an overall picture and to discover if you are eating too much or too little of anything.
At the end of the first session you will have
• A personal programme with practical suggestions for foods to increase and decrease.
• A personal supplement programme if needed.
• Access to ongoing support via phone or email.
Seeing a nutritionist is about much more than just “Healthy Eating”. We will work on finding the right foods for you as an individual. Nutritional medicine is a new and exciting science and can be a powerful tool in resolving all sorts of health problems.
